Asseco Platform has been named a Representative Vendor in the Gartner® Market Guide for Retail Execution Management in FMCG

Illustration for this post: a stylised report cover carrying the Gartner logo, beside the words Retail Execution Management

Gartner published its Market Guide for Retail Execution Management in Fast-Moving Consumer Goods in April 2025. Asseco Platform is one of the vendors named in it.

Whether that matters to you depends on two things: what a Market Guide actually is, and how much of retail execution management a platform has to cover for you.

What Representative Vendor means

Representative Vendor is Gartner’s wording for a company listed in a Market Guide, and a Market Guide is the format Gartner uses where describing a market is more useful than positioning the vendors inside it. It does not rate or position the vendors it includes. Gartner’s own wording on that is quoted in full at the bottom of this page.

Marcin Grzegorczyk, Director of Market Development and Sales Enablement at Asseco Platform

Procurement teams ask me for lists like this one. The people who will actually use the platform ask me about the shelf. I owe both of them an answer, and only one of those answers sits on Gartner’s website.

Marcin Grzegorczyk, Director of Market Development & Sales Enablement, Asseco Platform

For a shortlist, the useful part is the date and the scope: these were the vendors Gartner counted in this market in April 2025. Whether any of them fits your channels, the countries you sell in and the state of your data is a question the guide leaves to you.

In practice

What retail execution management covers

Retail execution management, as we describe it, is everything that sits between the plan you make for a store and what a shopper finds on its shelf. Which outlets get a visit, what happens during that visit, what the shelf looked like, what the distributor sold afterwards, and whether the promotion you paid for actually ran.

On our platform that work sits in five solutions. Which outlets deserve which effort, including the ones you do not call on yet, is decided in Route-to-Market Optimization. Field teams then plan and run their visits in Sales & Retail Execution, and Retail Image Recognition reads the shelf photographs they take. Sell-out data from distributors arrives through Trade Data Hub. Trade terms and the rebates and payouts owed against them are set and settled in Trade Terms & Settlement. The platform has 125,000+ users across 74 countries.

Perfect Store, an advanced module of Sales & Retail Execution, defines the in-store standard field teams work to, then scores each visit against it.
