An FMCG and retail networking dinner in Amsterdam, off the conference floor
On 14 May 2025 we hosted a dinner at Midtown Grill in central Amsterdam. Around the table sat FMCG and retail professionals who were in the city for the POI European Summit, and the table was deliberately small.
The evening had no programme. Cocktails, steaks, and a few hours of talking with people who spend their working days on the same problems, without a stand between them and a slide deck behind them.

What an evening like this is actually for
A conference gives you a few minutes with someone standing up, holding a coffee, already glancing at the time. A table gives you an evening, sitting down. That difference is why we booked a restaurant instead of adding another meeting room.
The people at that table work on the same thing we do: getting the right products onto the right shelves and keeping them there. That is what our retail execution software does for a living, and an evening like this one is where we hear what it still gets wrong.
